Education

Education is the backbone of a nation. Following this statement, we can say that primary education is the basic learning to develop quality, mission, vision and competence. As a result, if the basic education became weak then everything will have no output or in a sense there will be no value of that education. The current situation of primary education in Bangladesh is well organized except some shortcomings. Lack of consciousness of guardians in local village about education is one of the shortcomings to build up a strong nation in future.

In recent years, it has been notified that the primary education in Bangladesh has developed a lot than previous times. Compulsory primary education is one of the initiatives taken by Bangladeshi Government which was very effective in case of that situation.

There are many barriers in the development of Bangladeshi Educations. The problems are discussed in the below.

Fifty percent of Primary education institutions are financed and run by Government. The rest of them are run by Non Government Organizations (NGOs)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-governmental_organization. The expenditure per student in Bangladesh is 23$ where the other countries has average 46$. So it is clear that, the financial expenditure regarding Primary Education in Bangladesh is imbalanced.

In addition to this, though the rate of Primary Education has increased a lot, but in terms of quality it can be considered as ineffective in case of few cases. There is a discrimination between rural and urban education. The basic knowledge in urban areas students are more effective than the students of rural areas students. This is because, in rural areas it is observed that, lack of teachers, educational instruments are some reasons.

Furthermore, the ratio of Teacher and student is quite surprising comparing the ratio in some other poor countries. Most of the teachers have lack of training, skills as well as delivering quality education. Moreover, the rate of attending class is low, besides the materials for education are not enough for the students. On the demand side, poverty and illiteracy of parents are encouraging children to be absent in class.

In connection with this, the difference between governmental and non governmental educational institutions regarding quality and management are huge.Shortage of funds and improper use of available resources are also causes low quality.

To overcome the above mentioned problems, first of all we should decentralized administration and financial management system. Only giving education is not everything. Improving quality in education system is essential for us. To achieve that target we should observe the situation of other countries educational system from top to bottom.

The list of competencies should be reorganized. Measurement of those competencies should be introduced. Creative and problem solving issues should be exercise besides usual education. The number skilled teachers should be increased. To be more efficient the teachers and educational officials should attend different types training programs. Supply of new text books and notepad should be ensured for poor students who have no ability to collect them or purchase them. There is system in our country that those who are taking part in primary education will get food. It should be continued and it should be confirmed that students are getting their food for education. Overall educational planning and management should be more organized to tackle everything every situation with a strict and effective hand.

It is not possible only for Government to tackle the problems regarding primary education. It is our duty to help the government to face effectively the problems of education. The Non Government Organization and Civil Organizations should come forward with effective programs of mass education.
